Okay, so here I am blogging. Thought I would never do this, but you know, WTH. I have always used journaling as a personal growth and realization of 'what is going on with me', and so I am going to use this as an on-line (and slightly) less personal version of my journal.
I had my 'Grand opening' for my new web-shop on Friday, Oct.1st. It didn't go well. That morning I realized my 'add to cart' buttons were not functioning properly (they were fine last week when I tested everything:O) So, phone calls, apologies, frustration anger etc. for Fri. Sat. Sun. Then (after a few more phone calls with tech support) settled into-whatever. I can't fix it, and so I am at my web host's mercy.
On the better half of the situation is the fact that I finally made a decision about a new drum card. I had a Kitten hand crank drum card with the 190 tpi swift for the angora and fine fibers and the 120 tpi for the medium/coarse fibers. The kitten is a good carder, it worked and got the job done for a great price. I wanted more than that-I wanted perfection from a card (electric) and something that would really make my fiber prep as easy as possible-oh and last me FOREVA. I ended up with a Strauch finest table top hand crank, and the Patrick Green supercard. Both of these cards had been recommended to me by several infamous fiber people-but I am the girl that has to touch the sticky pitch on the pine tree-even after Mom said "Don't touch that honey, it's super sticky". So when I used the Strauch and the PG supercard and was stuptified at how easy both cards would make my job of fiber prep. So, these lovelies will be here within a few weeks (along with a triple picker).
I have also managed to do many samples (prepped, spun and knit) for different types of angora, types of preps AND woolen and worsted spun. I will be dying most of my white angora fiber this week, after completing the harvest of angora, and getting that up on the site. I will also be adding my Autumn Spice soap to the suds side of my repertoire and ideally getting my Derm Revival salve completed (developed for me and my daughter's eczema)
